Callen-Lenz in Bristol is seeking a Senior Flight Control Engineer to develop flight control and simulation software and lead software project teams.

You will work with stakeholders to ensure software meets requirements, coordinate flight performance studies, and develop flight dynamics models for company products.

The role offers a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment focused on expanding UAV capabilities and aerospace software expertise.

Qualifikationen

• BSc or MSc degree in an Engineering related subject.
• Experience in designing and documenting control systems.
• Deep understanding of aeronautics and control theory.
• Experience using MATLAB & Simulink.
• Knowledge of a variety of programming languages and tools.

Aufgaben

• Model-based design of flight control software using Simulink or similar.
• Lead the design and maintenance of autopilot simulation software.
• Coordinate and contribute to flight performance studies.
• Development of flight dynamics models for company products.
• Oversee and coach team members in the use of related software development tools.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to define software requirements.
• Review software source code and model designs.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
• Lead test and test recording to ensure correct operation of software and that requirements are met.
• Lead the software team within individual projects to deliver activities to agreed cost and schedule.
• Support the Project Manager in scoping, defining and estimating project tasks.
• Perform other duties where required.
