Job summary

Jobtailor in Warrington is seeking a civil/structural design engineer to lead the delivery of rail infrastructure design packages, including bridges, foundations, retaining structures, stations, and related assets. You will review calculations and drawings, and provide technical guidance to the design team.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure design compliance with national standards, and support project delivery through technical assurance and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in civil/structural design, preferably in rail/major infrastructure.
• Experience preparing and checking calculations, drawings and reports.
• Knowledge of structural design principles, codes and risk management.
• Experience with structural analysis/design software is advantageous.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to project team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil and structural design packages for rail infrastructure projects.
• Prepare, review, and verify calculations, drawings, reports and technical deliverables.
• Develop civil and structural engineering solutions for assets such as bridges, foundations, retaining structures, stations, and related rail infrastructure.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective design integration.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
• Support design reviews, technical assurance activities and the resolution of engineering issues.
• Identify and manage design risks in line with project requirements and relevant standards.
• Liaise with project managers, clients and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Ensure deliverables comply with Arcadis requirements, national standards and codes of practice.
