Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a dedicated team of QS professionals delivering Major Projects and Programmes in AMP8. The role oversees contractor programmes up to £400m annually, ensuring value for money and robust commercial governance across contracts.

The successful candidate will hold a Quantity Surveying degree, have strong leadership experience, and be chartered or working towards RICS.

Qualifications

• Degree or master’s in quantity surveying or equivalent.
• Experience in civil engineering sectors (transport, nuclear, utilities or similar).
• Experience managing a portfolio of projects pre- and post-contract.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers on commercial/contractual matters and manage risk.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractual compliance on all Contracts.
• Maintain and monitor processes for delivery area and team; escalate non-performance.
• Advise on procurement strategies for the delivery area.
• Provide commercial support to Third-Party Suppliers and Procurement team.
• Manage relationships with Direct Delivery Contractors and data for cost databases.
• Develop team members towards chartership and performance management.
• Ensure payments are certified and processed per contracts.
• Advise on budgets, spend and contract governance proposals.
• Resolve commercial disputes and sign off on contractual duties.
