Job summary

Urban Connect, a Tier 1 contractor, is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major Thames Water programme in Thames Valley. You will lead commercial management on a large project or multiple schemes, with autonomy and clear progression paths as the team expands.

The role emphasizes robust reporting, contract compliance, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with design and delivery teams to optimise commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level.
• Ensure that any main contracts entered have terms and conditions that are appropriate for the business, with commercial risks identified.
• Effectively assist in managing the commercial team, including cost clerks and commercial support staff
• Supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors.

Job description

A Tier 1 Contractor that has spent the last 2 years in an exciting rebuild, already achieving huge success with Thames Water have entered their next phase of growth and are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Thames Valley.

With over 40 Waste Water schemes and a major project awarded for AMP8, they have an excellent workload of design and build non-infrastructure work for Thames Water.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of a section of a large project or on several smaller projects, with a focus on:

• Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level.
• Ensure that any main contracts entered have terms and conditions that are appropriate for the business, with commercial risks identified.
• Effectively assist in managing the commercial team, including cost clerks and commercial support staff
• Supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors.
