Job summary

Ridge and Partners LLP is seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to progress within our cost management team in Birmingham. You will support delivery across sectors and projects, working with senior colleagues to manage budgets and value for our clients.

You will lead client meetings, provide cost advice at RIBA stages, and oversee tendering, contract documentation, and post-contract cost control, ensuring projects stay within budget and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in a consultancy environment relevant to cost management.
• RICS accredited degree or equivalent; MRICS desirable.
• Proficient with JCT contracts and QS software.
• Strong costing, tendering and value engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of projects as the single point of contact.
• Lead client meetings with multi-disciplinary teams and project delivery.
• Provide cost advice at RIBA stages including feasibility and cost plans.
• Advise on methods, materials and size to align with the cost plan.
• Undertake measurement in accordance with defined standards.
• Prepare, issue, evaluate and report on tenders and contract documentation.
• Manage project costs during construction and negotiate final accounts.
• Prepare monthly valuations, cost reports and post-contract variations.
• Develop relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
