Job description

Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Lead Quality Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.

This role involves leading all aspects related to Vehicle Structures Quality, including problem resolution for in-field Vehicle Line Activities, monitoring quality systems, and implementing design improvements and model year updates. The goal is to achieve targets across all areas and contribute to delivering quality targets for each vehicle line.

• White Alerts, Grey Alerts
• DFMEA metrics

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Lead all quality improvement activities within Vehicle Structures, including but not limited to:

• Updating, revising, and controlling all DFMEA & DRBFMs for vehicle structures in line with latest corporate metrics
• Leading the creation, acceptance, delivery, and resolution of Prevent Recurrence AIMS
• Leading Failure Mode Avoidance activities within Structures
• Driving vehicle structure improvements related to warranty, R/1000, A/1000, TGW, White Alerts, Grey Alerts
• Supporting the Lead Service Engineer in resolving vehicle Technical Assistance (TA) queries
• Leading the resolution of Engineering Owned Vehicle Structures IQM Projects
• Communicating new requirements and rules to the wider team
• Managing the Lessons Learned Process within vehicle structures, ensuring regular reviews, risk analysis, and resolution plans
• Providing leadership for robust control and review of all vehicle structures according to client processes
• Supporting team efforts in releasing requirements and design rules in 3DEx Total Requirements Management (TRM)
