Job summary

Ocho People is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own the testing strategy for a cutting-edge identity and risk intelligence platform. You will lead automation across multiple products, ensuring quality in a distributed system, and define standards that scale with the platform.

The role is fully remote across the UK, with options for full-time or contract. The stack includes TypeScript/JavaScript, Playwright, contract testing, Docker, and modern React on the frontend.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in test automation, QA engineering or SDET roles.
• Strong software engineering skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Deep experience with Playwright or Cypress with willingness to adopt Playwright.
• Experience testing modern React applications and REST APIs.
• Experience testing distributed or event-driven systems including asynchronous workflows.
• Experience designing integration testing strategies across multiple services.
• Experience building or introducing contract testing using Pact or similar.
• Strong understanding of CI and CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions.
• Comfortable writing clear, reproducible bug reports and performing exploratory testing.

Responsibilities

• Define the overall testing strategy across multiple products and services.
• Build the automation that underpins every release.
• Introduce tooling and practices that give the engineering team confidence in a complex distributed system.
• Within six months, become the technical lead for quality engineering across the platform.
