Job summary

CommuniTech Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Python AI Software Engineer for a top-tier asset management house in London. You will lead the design and delivery of production-grade AI systems and mentor engineers across squads.

Based in London St Pauls, you will shape AI products, scale them for production, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver measurable value across the firm.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience architecting and delivering cloud-native solutions using AWS or equivalent, containerized microservices, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience building or leading development of AI-enabled systems in production or near-production environments.
• Strong familiarity with modern AI engineering patterns such as agent orchestration, tool integration, retrieval-based systems, evaluation approaches, monitoring, or guardrails.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and system design skills with ability to lead teams through complex challenges.
• Strong communication, presentation, and influence skills to explain AI and engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated commitment to engineering excellence through automated testing, code reviews, observability, and continuous delivery.
• Results-oriented leader with a passion for mentoring and fostering innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and evolution of production-grade AI agents and intelligent systems within modern cloud-native architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across squads, raising the bar on architecture, quality, and execution.
• Drive Build-Operate-Transfer by incubating AI products and transitioning solutions for long-term ownership and scale.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to shape ambiguous problems into scalable AI solutions.
• Guide development of reusable AI capabilities and shared platform components across agent orchestration, tool use, and retrieval-based systems.
• Champion engineering excellence through testing, code quality, CI/CD practices.
• Ensure AI systems are production-ready with observability and safety controls.
• Oversee technical debt and drive continuous improvement across AI platforms and services.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI to accelerate workflows and create scalable business impact.
• Present AI projects to clients and partners, communicating value and approach clearly.
