The Principal Practitioner Psychologist post within Inclusion, part of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, is based at HMP Isle of Wight. The role centers on assessment, formulation and therapy for men with moderate to severe mental health problems, including complex trauma.

The post combines direct clinical work with leading intervention development, training and supervision across both prison sites, requiring HCPC registration and doctoral level training.

Qualifications

• Doctoral-level applied psychology training accredited by the BPS.
• Two or more psychological therapies and lifespan development.
• HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist is required.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert psychological assessment, formulation and therapy to patients with moderate to severe mental health problems within the prison pathway.
• Work with clients alone or jointly with others, depending on risk assessment.
• Implement psychological interventions for individuals and groups, refining formulations as needed.
• Provide direct clinical work appropriate to the banding of the role.
• Provide consultation and formulation to colleagues.
• Lead development of evidence-based psychological interventions.
• Develop and deliver training.
• Provide reflective practice spaces for teams.
• Offer supervision to more junior psychology colleagues.
