Job summary

Russell Taylor Group in Staffordshire is seeking a Lead Protection & Control Systems Engineer to lead design across projects with a UK focus. The role offers hybrid working, a strong technical leadership path and opportunities to shape protection system architectures.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering degree, extensive P&C experience in the UK market, and familiarity with IEC 61850 and substation protocols.

Qualifications

Engineering degree (or equivalent) required.
Experience in Protection & Control across Transmission & Distribution.
Knowledge of IEC 61850 and substation protocols.

Responsibilities

Lead and advise on Protection & Control elements across projects.
Chair design workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
Develop SLDs, KLDs, system architectures and concept designs.
Select technologies to meet standards.
Site visits and non-intrusive surveys.
Produce design docs and compliance materials.
Create and review schematics, layouts, calculations.
Support client approvals and meet specifications.
Provide input for tenders and change assessments.
Assist Project Manager in risk management.
