Job summary

NG Bailey Group Limited seeks a Project Manager – Service Upgrades to deliver the New Connections Service Upgrades contract with Northern Powergrid in the North East. The role oversees planning, energisation and handover, guiding a multi-disciplinary team to meet programme, budget and quality targets.

You will work closely with operational teams, clients and stakeholders, ensuring safe delivery and compliance with HSQE; previous utility sector experience and a UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management within cable installation, utilities or power distribution.
• Strong knowledge of LV cable networks.
• Understanding of new connections processes in regulated utilities.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day delivery of Service Upgrade projects, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget adherence.
• Lead and manage a team of Field Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers and Site Operatives.
• Act as main operational point of contact with Northern Powergrid.
• Ensure compliance with HSQE policies, procedures and legal requirements.
• Manage multiple projects from planning through energisation and handover.
• Plan and allocate labour, plant and materials to meet demands.
• Monitor KPIs and contract performance, implementing improvements as needed.
• Prepare RAMS and as-built records accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with authorities, subcontractors and stakeholders to enable delivery.
• Support commercial performance through planning, forecasting and resource management.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
