Job summary

Candour Talent are recruiting a Production Engineer for a client in Port Talbot. The role focuses on technical leadership, continuous improvement and safe, reliable output in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on engineering experience in FMCG, a Level 4/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, and a track record of leading maintenance, lean initiatives and team development on the factory floor in Port Talbot.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in FMCG/high-speed manufacturing environments.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification Level 4/HNC/HND or equivalent experience.
• Experience with preventative maintenance, fault finding and structured problem solving.
• Strong Lean, SMED, RCA and 5S with continuous improvement principles.
• Proactive leadership, coaching and development of people and processes.
• Ability to interpret production data and equipment performance.
• Able to work independently and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical performance, development and continuous improvement of the production section.
• Oversee machine/equipment condition, tooling readiness and process control.
• Coordinate maintenance and improvement activities with maintenance engineering during windows and interventions.
• Identify improvement opportunities and drive initiatives as technical expert for the area.
• Develop operators and team leaders, providing technical support and mentoring.
• Manage tooling, changeovers, problem solving, OEM coordination and lean practices.
