Working Pattern: Permanent / Full Time

As the Lead Process Engineer, you will:
  • Perform process studies for technical evaluation of process solutions.
  • Be technically competent in your discipline and actively maintain your competence according to standards, pursuing continuous professional development.
  • Provide value-adding knowledge to constructability reviews, considering layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, utilities, and maintainability.
  • Check and approve calculations against design codes and best practices. Manage team delivery, assign work, monitor progress, provide weekly updates, and attend planning meetings to ensure resource and delivery progress are maintained.
  • Produce deliverables conforming to all applicable industry engineering codes, standards, and client policies related to the equipment specified.
  • Have sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes.

Location: Glasgow – hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

You’ll have experience of:
  • Sizing and selecting Pressure Safety Devices, Relief Valves.
  • Generating and checking Process Engineering deliverables (P&IDs, PFDs, Safety Device Calculations, Equipment Sizing, etc.).
  • Specification and selection of Process instruments for operation and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF).
  • Process Simulation Software such as HYSYS and UNISIM; dynamic simulation is advantageous.
  • Understanding of AIV and FIV in process systems.
  • Knowledge of typical process equipment: separators, pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, tanks, chemical injectors.
  • Experience in engineering design or EPCC support roles.
  • Calculating and specifying Process Safety Time for Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Writing and reviewing system scopes for third-party vendors.
  • Participating in safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA.
  • Understanding pressure surge calculations in process systems.
  • Producing and approving deliverables conforming to industry codes and standards.
  • Supporting business development for new bids.
