Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford is recruiting Principal Investigators to lead independent research groups within the Generative Biology Institute, delivering bold, transformative research aligned with the vision of engineering biology for good. You will set the research direction, recruit and mentor researchers, collaborate across GBI and the EIT, and help shape facilities and strategy.

A PhD and a strong publication record are essential; experience leading groups in academic or industry

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (synthetic biology, computational biology, genomics, etc.).
• Strong publication record demonstrating transformational advances.
• Track record of building and managing collaborations with academia and industry.
• Leadership experience, with ability to engage senior researchers and teams.
• Experience leading an autonomous group or running a lab as a Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities

• Set the research direction for your group in alignment with GBI's vision.
• Recruit and manage researchers, including postdocs, students and staff.
• Mentor early career researchers to achieve goals and advance careers.
• Collaborate across GBI and with EIT to deliver transformative research.
• Shape facilities and scientific strategy for GBI.
