Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Associates to enhance their Primary Substation capability. The role involves producing comprehensive design drawings and preparing technical specifications for electrical plant related to substation upgrades and new projects from 11 kV to 132 kV.

The ideal candidates will have a minimum qualification of HNC in Electrical Engineering, experience in HV and EHV substation design, and a willingness to travel for project needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: HNC Electrical Engineering.
• Exposure to substation cable design, protection, and control.
• Proven experience in HV and EHV substation design from 11 kV up to and including 132 kV.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation for electrical substation design.
• Willingness to travel as per project needs.

Responsibilities

• Produce design drawings for Grid and Primary substations.
• Prepare technical specifications and associated designs for substation upgrades.
• Review designs for compliance with legislation and policies.
• Identify and manage health and safety risks.
• Develop external and internal client relationships.
