Salary Range: $18.00 To $25.00 Hourly

3rd shift - additional $3.50 shift differential

POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Lead Press Operator operates equipment to production standards, supports production, and leads daily shift activities. Supports resource deployment, safety training, Continuous Improvement projects, and fosters a high-performance team culture. May fill in for leadership gaps as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.
  2. Lead EHS training, safety observations, hazard identification, and safety committees.
  3. Develop and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
  4. Maintain product quality, GMPs, and workmanship standards.
  5. Maintain a clean, organized 6S program in production areas.
  6. Operate finishing equipment such as coaters, presses, slitters, turrets.
  7. Assist with product set-up, change-overs, packing, and material handling.
  8. Support training, cross-training, and team development.
  9. Perform quality audits and document sign-offs.
  10. Support standard work development, including SOPs and training documents.
  11. Lead shift huddles, Gemba walks, and communication efforts.
  12. Allocate resources to meet production schedules and minimize downtime.
  13. Support inventory cycle counts and ensure proper raw material management.
  14. Assist maintenance with equipment PMs, repairs, and projects.
  15. Interface with vendors on technical matters and CI ideas.
  16. Participate in onboarding new jobs and support team efforts.
  17. Collaborate with maintenance, planning, HR, quality, R&D, and leadership.
  18. Attend training to develop relevant skills.
  19. Promote effective communication, teamwork, and a positive work environment.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERPs, WMS).
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related CI experience.
  • Basic math skills including calculations of rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to read instructions, diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to train others.
  • Positive attitude and respectful behavior.
  • Ability to support plant activities and flow of materials and information.
  • Must lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk frequently, with bending, squatting, and reaching.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Leadership experience in manufacturing projects, training, CI, safety roles.
