Bedford Academy, part of HEART Academies Trust, is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Business Studies to lead the department and drive high standards of teaching and student achievement across GCSE and BTEC. You will develop strategic direction and collaborate with other Bedford schools to enhance Business education across the Borough.

• Lead Teacher and Practitioner for all Business courses at Bedford Academy.
• Provide strategic vision, direction and leadership for the Business department to maintain high teaching standards and student achievement across GCSE, BTEC and future developments.
• Develop partnerships with Business Leads from other Bedford Schools to improve Business provision across the Borough.
• Ensure Business course results are consistently above national averages for BA students.
• Support other staff through Teaching and Learning initiatives as agreed with SLT.

Main Duties Include

• To be Lead Teacher and Practitioner for all Business courses run at BA.
• To provide strategic vision, direction, and leadership for the Business department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across all Key Stages (including GCSE, BTEC, and any future developments within the subject).
• To develop a working partnership and party with Business Leads from other Bedford Schools, to improve the quality of Business provision across the Borough.
• To continue to ensure that Business course results are consistently above National averages for BA students.
• To support the Teaching and Learning of other staff within specific areas of the school where this is requested by SLT. As agreed with the Lead Practitioner through effective line management.

• Successful experience of teaching the full range of ability students, including students with additional needs such as SEND and PP
• Experience of contributing to and supporting initiatives that have improved learning and teaching and student knowledge
