Job summary

Sidney Stringer Academy is seeking a dynamic Lead Practitioner for English to drive standards across the Trust. You will develop a curriculum that enables all students to achieve the best outcomes in English and foster a lifelong love of reading across our pupils.

The right candidate will lead or support Literacy activities across the Trust, with a focus on KS3–KS4 (and KS5 where applicable), and will have proven ability to raise attainment through engaging teaching and careful assessment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification.
• Degree in relevant subject.
• Experience teaching KS3 & KS4 (and KS5 if applicable).
• Proven ability to deliver teaching strategies that directly lead to excellent academic results and pupil outcomes.
• Advanced ability to assess, evaluate, and monitor student progress and attainment effectively.
• High-level classroom observation skills, with the ability to provide well-founded appraisals and actionable advice to colleagues.
