Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO Safeline X-ray is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the University of Sheffield. The role involves designing and testing digitally controlled power electronic systems to enhance X-ray generator performance, with leadership of the project across multiple sites.

You will work primarily at Royston office with occasional Sheffield visits, operating within an agile scrum framework to deliver high voltage subsystems and support product

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of power electronics and high voltage systems.
• Experience with agile/Scrum development processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop a power supply subsystem for a X-ray inspection machine (high voltage).
• Analyze existing solutions and implement improvements.
• Design, simulate, implement and test power electronic conversion circuits.
• Develop closed-loop controllers for power electronics circuits.
• Lead the KTP project milestones and create technical documents.
• Collaborate with university and industry partners within Agile framework.
• Coordinate across sites including Sheffield and Royston.
