Job summary

The University of Sheffield invites applications for a power electronics engineer to join a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Mettler Toledo Safeline X-ray in Royston. Lead development of next-generation high voltage generators for X-ray inspection machines.

You will design, implement and test digitally controlled wide-bandgap power electronic systems, liaising with SLXR engineers and contributing toward commercialisation.

Qualifications

• Power electronics design experience.
• Knowledge of wide-bandgap technologies (GaN/SiC) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and test digitally controlled wide-bandgap power electronic systems (e.g., power factor correctors and high voltage inverters).
• Lead project delivery, liaising with SLXR engineers in product development and commercialisation.
• Contribute to personal development through the KTP development budget and potential MPhil registration.
