Job summary

We are seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to join the Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the University of Sheffield and METTLER TOLEDO Safeline X-ray. You will design, implement and test digitally controlled power electronic systems, such as high voltage inverters, to advance X-ray generator performance.

The role involves leading the project from Royston and occasional visits to Sheffield, collaborating with METTLER TOLEDO engineers, and supporting product development and commercialization

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience in electronic, electrical or control engineering.
• Experience designing, constructing and testing power electronic systems.
• Experience with analogue/digital control for power electronics.
• Experience in CAD/EDA for PCB design and circuit simulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a power supply subsystem for X-ray inspection machines.
• Analyse existing solutions and identify improvements.
• Design, simulate, implement and test power electronic conversion circuits.
• Lead project milestones and produce technical documents.
