Job summary
Vertiv is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer for Power Software & Controls in Derry/Londonderry. You will lead PLC/SCADA automation design and program development, guide cross‑functional teams, and drive secure, scalable power control solutions for global projects.
The role requires 8+ years in systems engineering with strong PLC/SCADA, networking and cybersecurity expertise, and experience with Siemens, Rockwell or Schneider platforms.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience focusing on PLC/SCADA, networking and cybersecurity.
- Strong expertise in industrial automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell or Schneider.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.) and cybersecurity frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of PLC/SCADA-based automation systems and related software.
- Oversee system architecture planning, including integration of PLCs, SCADA platforms and networking components.
- Ensure systems comply with industry standards, client specs and cybersecurity best practices.
- Develop and validate control algorithms, HMI configurations, and network designs.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the software development department.
- Collaborate with software, network and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Act as SME for technical inquiries, troubleshooting and decisions.
- Manage multiple projects to meet schedule, budget and specifications.
