Job summary

Vertiv Co in Derry/Londonderry seeks a motivated CAD Engineer to join the Power Software & Controls team. The role focuses on configuring, testing, and deploying PLC-based control systems and power monitoring solutions.

You will produce precise electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for UPS, switchgear, and automation projects, collaborating with electrical engineers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Experience in CAD drafting within electrical, power, or controls engineering environments.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design tools.
• Solid understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
• Familiarity with power systems (UPS, switchgear) and industrial control systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of IEC/ISO standards or local electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed CAD drawings, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and system integration drawings.
• Translate engineering concepts and design inputs into accurate drawings.
• Support design teams in UPS, switchgear, and automation system documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with standards and project requirements.
• Manage revisions and documentation updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.
