Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Power Software & Controls – Lead Systems Engineer in Derry/Londonderry to lead PLC/SCADA automation projects, oversee system architecture, and guide cross‑functional teams. You will integrate PLCs, SCADA, networking, and cybersecurity, develop control algorithms, mentor engineers, and ensure projects meet client specifications and security standards.

This senior role requires 8+ years in systems engineering with Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider platforms and a strong OT/IT

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
8+ years in systems engineering focusing on PLC/SCADA, networking, and cybersecurity.
Strong experience with industrial automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of PLC/SCADA-based automation systems and software solutions.
Oversee system architecture planning, including PLCs, SCADA platforms, and networking components.
Ensure systems comply with industry standards, client specifications, and cybersecurity best practices.
Develop and validate control algorithms, HMI configurations, and network designs.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams in the software department.
Coordinate with vendors and clients to ensure requirements are understood and executed.
