Job summary

Referment is seeking a hands-on senior/lead engineer to partner with product delivery teams in London and across the UK. You will shape architecture for a range of codebases, contribute to central services, and help evolve AI-enabled development practices while delivering high-impact software.

You will mentor developers, design reusable components, and ensure secure, scalable production systems as part of a cross-functional engineering function.

Qualifications

• Strong, demonstrable experience with C#/.NET and modern .NET stack.
• Azure PaaS/SaaS offerings including Functions, App Services, Service Bus, Storage, Event Grid, Application Insights.
• ASP.NET WebAPI (RESTful) with Azure SQL and CosmosDB/Table Storage.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to architect well-reasoned solutions and explain tech to stakeholders.
• Proactive, logical problem-solver who can upskill quickly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to develop technical architecture recommendations and support.
• Identify opportunities to standardise and create reusable components and services.
• Advance SDLC practices for AI-enabled development while maintaining quality.
• Champion automated testing, CI/CD, coding standards, observability and debt management.
• Contribute to design and development of shared packages and services.
• Ensure platform solutions are secure, compliant and operable in production.
• Mentor developers and translate business needs into practical technical options.
