Job Description
Lead Planner - Power (Doncaster)
Are you looking for an unique role that is not a traditional engineering planner, is fast paced and will keep you on your toes?
We are representing one of the largest independent UK groups within the engineering sector. With six companies within the group and a combined annual turnover exceeding £40m, they are looking for a talented Lead Planner who has the ability to structure, sequence and present schedules in a clear and logical way; to contribute to their continued success.
With a fantastic reputation in the market for over 30 years and ambitious growth plans ,they are a dynamic and growing organisation committed to excellence in design, engineering and manufacturing.
Reporting to the Senior Estimator, the Lead Planner is a critical coordination role in their operations. This isn’t just about producing schedules – it’s a key role in shaping how they plan, monitor, and deliver projects across multiple sectors and companies within the Group; bringing structure, clarity, and consistency.
The Lead Planner will enable the business to forecast more accurately, resource more effectively, and win more work through high-quality tender programmes.
You will ideally have worked in the power industry and understand the fast pace nature of this sector. You will be proficient/advanced Microsoft Project skills, capable of building robust, clear, and practical project schedules to support both tenders and live delivery.
You’ll help the business build a standardised approach to planning, manage cross-functional planning activity, and provide reliable data to influence decisions. You will bridge the gap between technical project managers, commercial teams, and the client – offering programme leadership and governance that shapes how they deliver from tender to completion.
This role does not require an engineering background—but strong planning acumen, initiative, and the ability to work independently across multiple stakeholders are essential.

If you are a driven planner who wants to make a difference in a growing company that is all about great people; who believe strongly that their priority is to continue to invest in their people, helping them to be the best that they can possibly be, then apply today.
