Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust seeks an ambitious Lead Pharmacy Technician to drive the Digital Medicines, Medicines Safety and Governance agenda. You will lead the EPS rollout, optimise prescribing pathways and promote safe, cost-effective care across hospital services.

Ideal candidates are GPhC-registered technicians with hospital experience, who can lead digital change, train teams and coordinate across clinical services to improve patient access and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant post-registration experience within hospital pharmacy.
• Experience with electronic prescribing or digital medicines systems, including implementation/testing/service optimisation.
• Experience coordinating clinical audits, service evaluations or quality improvement activities.
• Experience delivering training and guidance for new systems or processes.
• Experience managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes on time.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Trust-wide implementation and development of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) and related digital medicines initiatives.
• Coordinate with Pharmacy Clinical Informatics Team and multidisciplinary colleagues to optimise systems and provide training.
• Support medicines governance, incident learning and controlled drugs assurance.
• Analyse medicines-related data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Address risks and improve practice through audits, monitoring and governance activities.
