Job summary

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Pharmacist for Medicine to provide leadership and strategic direction to the clinical pharmacy service within the medical directorate. This 6-month fixed-term role supports maternity leave and aims to sustain high-quality patient care across medical wards.

The post holder will lead, mentor and train pharmacists, ensure clinical governance, and contribute to service development in a collaborative NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical or Technical Pharmacy or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Registered as a pharmacist with The General Pharmaceutical Council.

Responsibilities

• Lead a skilled team delivering clinical pharmacy services to the medicine wards.
• Contribute to delivery of the department's strategic objectives and service development.
• Provide highly specialised pharmaceutical care and supervise junior pharmacists and trainees.
• Deliver training and mentorship to pharmacists and trainee staff.
