Job summary

Wellington Hospital is seeking a Lead Clinical Pharmacist to head the Pharmacy Team and deliver a comprehensive, safe and effective service across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will lead the senior pharmacy team, contribute to strategy and governance, drive service improvement and uphold the highest standards of patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience in an advanced level within an acute setting.
• Experience leading or mentoring pharmacists in a complex acute hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pharmacy service across hospital disciplines (inpatient, dispensary, outpatient).
• Contribute to departmental strategy, governance and service improvement initiatives.

Job description

As a Lead Clinical Pharmacist, you will lead Clinical Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team at the Wellington Hospital, currently rated "Good” by the CQC.

9am-5.30pm for weekdays and 0900-1300 for weekends.

What you'll be responsible for

• As a Lead Pharmacist you’ll be eligible for:25 days holiday each year (plus bank holidays) increasing with service, with option to buy or sell leave to suit you
• As a key member of the Pharmacy Senior Management Team, you will contribute to departmental strategy, operational delivery and governance initiatives, helping to drive service improvement and maintain the highest standards of patient-focused care
• The post-holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, safe and effective pharmacy service across the hospital, providing leadership across dispensary, inpatient and outpatient services while supporting the ongoing development of the wider pharmacy team

Professional background

• Post graduate Diploma/Masters in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience working to an advanced level within an acute setting
• Leading, managing or mentoring pharmacists within a complex acute hospital environment
• D clinical pharmacist with an advanced level background in an acute environment looking to take the next step into a senior leadership role
