Job summary

Capgemini in London is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to steer a team of performance engineers, defining strategy and non-functional requirements for complex client programmes.

You'll work across engineering, architecture, DevOps, SRE and cloud teams to ensure systems are scalable, resilient and production-ready, with hybrid working across offices, client sites and home. The role emphasizes strong stakeholder management, hands-on testing and shaping performance gates.

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise performance engineering and non-functional testing.
• Proven ability to lead performance engineering teams.
• Hands-on with LoadRunner/JMeter/NeoLoad/Gatling/k6.
• Experience designing load, stress, endurance, and failover tests.
• Experience testing APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong root-cause analysis and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and consulting skills.

Responsibilities

• Define the performance strategy and non-functional requirements.
• Lead and coach a team of performance engineers.
