Job summary

Wise is seeking a Lead Payment Operations Analyst to optimise payment processes and governance. You will partner with senior stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights and drive improvements across payments operations.

You will own key metrics, build data pipelines, and present findings to auditors and risk partners. A strong background in data analytics, SQL, and storytelling with data is essential.

Qualifications

• SQL and data pipelines; dbt experience preferred.
• Strong quantitative skills; background in statistics, math, engineering, or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate insights into persuasive narratives.
• Ability to structure business problems independently and prioritise collaboratively.
• Proactive mindset – go beyond analysis to deliver outcomes.
• Experience with data visualisation tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau) and storytelling with data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and communicate insights to drive change.
• Identify potential risks, analyze their impact, and propose metrics to monitor and manage them.
• Own and track key metrics and results for the organization, ensuring accountability each quarter.
• Work with auditors, risk partners, and stakeholders to test the effectiveness of existing controls and communicate findings.
• Prevent financial losses and maintain compliance through early identification of data trends.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, prepare reports, create visualisations, and deliver presentations that expose data in actionable ways.
