Job summary

Barnet Council is seeking a skilled Passenger Fleet Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the Passenger Transport Service at Oakleigh Depot, N11. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, regulatory compliance and high-quality service for vulnerable users.

You will supervise staff, monitor contractors, plan routes, manage budgets, and produce performance reports. The position is onsite, a 3-month contract with Enhanced DBS, requiring early shifts and travel between Oakleigh Depot and North

Qualifications

• Experience in Passenger Transport, Fleet Operations, Transport Coordination, or Transport Management.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage transport activities.
• Knowledge of Passenger Transport Services, Fleet Management, Transport Compliance, Driver Management, Health & Safety.
• Experience monitoring contractor performance and service delivery.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in incident investigation and complaint resolution.
• Comprehensive understanding of transport legislation and operational needs.
• Proficient in administration and reporting.
• Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel, and email systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in Local Authority Passenger Transport Service.
• Knowledge of Working Time Regulations, Private Hire Regulations, Fleet Management Systems, Chevin Fleet Management System, Mission IT Passenger Transport System.
• Experience conducting transport contract compliance audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily management of the Passenger Fleet Service.
• Ensure adequate resources are available to meet operational needs.
• Aid in planning and optimizing transport routes.
• Monitor contractor performance and adherence to service standards.
• Conduct compliance audits and service evaluations.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Support transport booking and scheduling activities.
• Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and transport protocols.
