Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Paediatric OT to join the Children’s Complex Disability team at Leasowe Millennium Centre. You will lead the service, work with Early Years and Sensory Motor teams, and support school-age children with complex disabilities and neurological conditions.

The role involves coordinating housing adaptations, manual handling and education/community-based support, with a focus on effective care planning, staff education

Qualifications

• Postgraduate experience in children’s services and neurological conditions.
• Effective communication with staff, patients, carers and other agencies to coordinate care.
• Ability to organise audits, patient surveys or research to improve services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop OT services for school-age children with complex disabilities.
• Assess and provide advice for housing adaptations, manual handling and access in educational and community settings.
• Provide specialist assessments for patients with complex presentations requiring advanced skills.
• Educate and advise staff, agencies, patients, relatives and carers, and the general public.
