Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) in Coventry invites applications for a Paediatric and Neonatal Lead Speech and Language Therapist (NHS AfC Band 8a). This part-time role is 22.5 hours per week with a permanent contract, offering a pro rata salary of £57,528–£64,750 per annum.

You will lead a team of SLTs and assistants, work with neonates and paediatric inpatients, provide supervision, and drive service development and quality improvement in feeding and swallowing

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech & Language Therapy (or equivalent Masters) and HCPC registered.
• Postgraduate paediatric dysphagia training; FINE course completed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and deliver high-quality SLT service for neonates and paediatrics.
• Provide clinical supervision, training and support.
• Work as autonomous practitioner with assessment, diagnosis and management of feeding/swallowing disorders.
• Collaborate within MDT and lead policy development for neonates/paediatrics SLT.
• Prioritise referrals and support rapid assessment and discharge planning.
• Support other MDT colleagues and students; ensure HCPC/RCSLT standards.
• Maintain accurate case notes and evidence-based practice.
