Job summary

Freedom Networks is seeking a Chargehand Linesman for a field-based role in Basingstoke to lead overhead line projects up to 33kV. You will manage a team, erect poles, maintain and replace networks, and ensure works comply with Freedom standards and safety policies.

We value experience as a linesperson, IPAF, NRSWA, and a full UK driving license, with a focus on safe, high-quality delivery and mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Background and experience as a Linesperson.
• Experience working on dead networks and/or live LV working.
• IPAF accreditation (training can be provided).
• Full UK driving licence.
• NRSWA Operative qualification.
• Strong awareness of safety and a risk‑averse approach.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with members of the public.
• A team‑oriented individual who is enthusiastic, committed and focused on supporting a high‑performing operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work as part of an Overhead Line team to erect poles, change transformers and carry out a wide range of overhead line activities.
• Construct, maintain and replace overhead electrical networks up to 33kV.
• Follow Freedom standards, policies, and procedures and meet customer requirements.
• Lead on site, mentor colleagues and ensure safety on all works.
• Participate in risk assessments and monitor site conditions.
• Work safely at all times in line with safety requirements and company procedures.
• Ensure work is completed efficiently and to high quality standards.
