Job summary

AUREOS INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES LIMITED is seeking a skilled Chargehand Linesman in the UK to lead our overhead line construction and maintenance team. You will supervise and perform installation, tensioning, sagging, and termination of overhead conductors, ensuring safety and quality across all projects.

Strong leadership, detailed reporting, and adherence to standards are essential. Certification in power engineering, HV/LV knowledge, and a valid HGV/LGV license are highly desirable as you

Qualifications

• Fully qualified overhead linesman with industry certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Power Engineering).
• Valid heavy vehicle driving license (HGV/LGV) desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years in overhead line construction and maintenance, with 1–2 years in lead-hand capacity.
• Deep knowledge of HV/LV overhead line systems and live-line working procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and safety credentials.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and motivate a team on-site to meet project timelines.
• Install, tension, sag, and terminate overhead conductors and line hardware.
• Enforce health and safety regulations and conduct toolbox talks.
• Inspect work against specifications and maintain daily logs and reports.
• Diagnose faults and lead rapid-response repairs during outages.
• Coordinate tools, vehicles, and materials and ensure safe operation.
