Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Band 7 Pharmacist for Outpatient Pharmacy services at St Helier Hospital. You will screen and check outpatient and specialist prescriptions, counsel patients and monitor KPIs and PTS to ensure timely care.

You will lead with the Principal Pharmacist for Outpatients, support staff development, training and quality improvement, and deputise for senior colleagues as needed.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Good Clinical Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice in relation to clinical trials.
• Clinical experience in a range of clinical specialties.
• Management of staff / staff appraisal.
• Previous experience in clinical trials/research.
• GCP training.
• Post GPhC registration UK hospital experience.
• Outpatient Pharmacy/Community Pharmacy experience.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Good organisational skills, self and others.
• Motivation and adaptability.
• IT literacy.
• Familiarity with CMM (formerly JAC) Pharmacy Computer System.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GPhC standards of conduct, ethics and performance and comply with professional, ethical, and legal obligations.
• Deliver a patient-focused Outpatient Pharmacy service maintaining high standards of service and professional image.
• Dispense medicines legally, efficiently and accurately with proper checks.
• Provide counselling and information to patients on medicines and safe usage.
• Provide professional leadership within Outpatient Pharmacy in line with current guidance.
• Respond to patient needs and manage complaints with a compassionate approach.
• Participate in late duty, seven-day, bank holiday and on-call rotas as appropriate.
