Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford is seeking a substantive Team Lead Occupational Therapist (Band 7) to cover Neurology/Stroke inpatient rehab and Neuro-Oncology outpatients. This part-time (26.25 hours) post leads a small OT team within a respected Stroke service, collaborating with an MDT to deliver patient-centred care.

The role includes supervision of junior staff, teaching on placement, and contributing to ongoing service development in line with national guidance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised body.
• Registration with HCPC and ongoing professional development.
• Experience at senior level or supervisor/ specialist area preferred.
• Masters level or equivalent qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients; prevent de-conditioning; facilitate timely discharge.
• Refer to other services and supervise Band 5s and Band 6s.
• Educate and supervise Occupational Therapy students on placement.
• Contribute to service development within the department.

Education

Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy

Masters level / degree level / NVQ / Certificate OR equivalent

HCPC registration (Satisfies the criteria for full Membership)

State Registered Occupational Therapist
