Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient Stroke Unit at Southend University Hospital. The role involves early assessment and management of stroke patients, discharge planning and equipment recommendations, with supervision from the band 7 team lead.

You will work within the Inpatient Therapy Team, with opportunities to develop clinically and managerially, CPD, and leadership skills, supported by the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist

Qualifications

• BSc in Occupational Therapy is essential.
• HCPC registration is essential.
• Evidence of CPD is essential.
• Desirable: Clinical Educators Course.

Responsibilities

• Lead early assessment and management of stroke patients to facilitate safe discharge.
• Manage a complex caseload with support from Band 7 team lead.
• Supervise staff and develop as a practice placement educator.
• Engage in service development with a person-centred approach in line with Trust Values.
