Job summary

The Park Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner in Nottingham. This full‑time role (37.5 hours) requires leadership of the theatres team and expert perioperative skills to support surgeons and anaesthetists, coordinate lists, and maintain safety and patient flow.

You will supervise junior staff, participate in audits and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality care and excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC) with perioperative experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills required.
• Solid governance, infection control and theatre safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment.
• Provide skilled assistance to surgical and anaesthetic teams.
• Lead theatre preparations, coordinate lists and ensure resources are in place.
• Support Theatre Manager with briefs, scheduling, stock control and patient flow.
• Supervise junior staff and provide clinical guidance.
• Identify risks and participate in audits and incident reviews.
• Collaborate with consultants, anaesthetists and ward teams to ensure continuity of care.
