Job description

An opportunity has arisen within our practice nurse team. We are looking for a motivated, innovative, ambitious nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to become our Lead Nurse at New Forest Central Medical Group.

New Forest Central Medical Group have two sites in Brockenhurst and Sway. We are a small friendly rural practice with 7,500 patients.

The role would suit an experienced practice nurse looking to step up into a lead nurse role or a lead nurse looking for a change. You would need to be highly motivated and will require a dedicated approach to self-development and be prepared to study further depending on the practice needs. We as a practice, are committed to give the right candidate the training and support required to develop within primary care.

The Lead Practice Nurse will be responsible for the management of the practice nursing team, consisting of currently one other experienced nurse, a paramedic and one HCA.

The Lead Practice Nurse will be responsible for several clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, as well as supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure.

Working as a senior member of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will ensure nursing services are delivered effectively to the entitled patient population.

The successful candidate must have a current NMC registration.
