Job summary

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children to lead safeguarding across the Trust and collaborate with clinical teams and partners to keep children at the heart of practice.

The post ensures high-quality safeguarding, provides expert advice, delivers education and training, and promotes best practice across sites. DBS check cost and arrangements are clearly defined for new staff.

Qualifications

• Be registered on Part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse and NMC registration.
• Post‑registration safeguarding training completed and teaching qualification.
• Leadership programme with focus on change management or willingness to undertake.
• Safeguarding supervision course completed.
• Knowledge of The Children Act 1989/2004 and safeguarding legislation.
• IT skills including access to health databases (SystmOne, Web V).
• Experience delivering audits and developing training materials.
• Ability to demonstrate interagency safeguarding work and multi‑agency collaboration.
• Awareness of local and national safeguarding developments.

Responsibilities

• Provide cross site safeguarding leadership and expert advice across the Trust.
• Interpret and communicate highly complex information to a wide range of professionals.
• Contribute to Section 11 audits to ensure statutory compliance.
• Lead safeguarding supervision for health professionals to ensure safe practice.
• Lead Inter Agency working in committees and multi‑agency groups.
• Assist in design, development and delivery of safeguarding education and training.
