Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in London is seeking a Lead Engineer to manage maintenance delivery costs and ensure services meet SLAs in critical environments. The role covers planning, auditing, procurement, and reporting, with emphasis on safety, compliance, and effective stakeholder communication.

Ideal candidates bring strong electrical/engineering background, 18th Edition knowledge, and proven ability to work in data-centre/critical environments. On-site role with UK-wide scope.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost related to delivery of maintenance activities (specialist and self-perform).
• Ensure client services, data networks, and critical environments meet client requirements or SLAs.
• Operate dilapidation and update plans for critical environments.
• Oversee change control process for business critical areas.
• Provide technical management reports as required.
• Provide emergency response standby/call-out.
• Monitor utilities management and environmental programmes.
• Support critical environment related technical audits.
• Support cost-effective procurement of maintenance services.
• Operate within annual engineering budgets for maintenance and repair.
• Maintain documentation/records for critical engineering activities.
• Advise FM team on changes in critical environment requirements.
• Plan Statutory Compliance Maintenance and Testing; report audit results.
• Ensure PPMs and Critical Facility PPMs are carried out on schedule.
• Monitor environmental conditions and equipment loadings.
• Liaise with EHS specialist for audit compliance.
• Ensure maintenance aligns with H&S procedures and permit-to-work.
• Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
