Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Merseyside is seeking a Microbiology Consultant to join the microbiology team of four Consultants working across trust sites. The post is whole time - 10 PAs (less than full time will be considered) and is based at Southport Hospital with agile working considered.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be GMC-registered with a licence to practise.
• Must be on GMC Specialist Register or obtain CCT within six months of interview.
• Non-UK trained applicants will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.

Responsibilities

• Lead antimicrobial stewardship and contribute to OPAT service.
• Participate in MDT meetings and provide ward presence as needed.
• Oversee pathology services across Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust sites.
• A formal job plan will be agreed within 3 months of start date.
