Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Microbiology Consultant to join an established team of four Consultants working across all Trust sites. The post is full time (10 programmed activities) with flexibility for less than full time considered, based at Southport Hospital with agile working options.

The successful candidate will be registered with the GMC, on the Specialist Register or awaiting CCT within six months, and will contribute to antimicrobial stewardship,

Qualifications

• Must hold GMC licence to practice at application time.
• On the GMC Specialist Register or have CCT within six months.
• Non-UK trained applicants must show UK CCT equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Lead antimicrobial stewardship initiatives across the Trust.
• Develop and lead OPAT services and MDT meetings.
• Provide ward presence and cross-site leadership in microbiology.
