Job summary

RCV Engines Ltd in Ferndown, Dorset, has a vacancy for a Turbine Specialist. You will lead the testing, disassembly/assembly and troubleshooting of miniature jet turbine engines, applying first principles knowledge. You will also help develop the wider skills base within the manufacturing team.

Role is permanent and in-office, with a salary of £45,000–£50,000 per year, 25 days leave, a pension scheme and hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is desirable.
• Equivalent vocational training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Become RCV’s lead turbine specialist: assemble/dis-assemble, test and solve problems for miniature jet turbine engines.
• Test and report engine performance; escalate issues and record data per design requirements.
• Train and support skills development; recruit staff as production increases.
• Complete and record component inspections; escalate concerns when dimensions/standards are not met.
• Assemble engine sub-assemblies and final assemblies per Engineering Specifications and Drawings; follow procedures.
• Carry out engine test and calibration procedures as required for each engine and customer.
• Servicing, overhaul and fault diagnosis on engines; provide assessments and repair recommendations.
• Prepare engines for shipment, including packing and documentation.
• Support R&D/Prototyping as needed; work with line manager and experts.
