Job summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Technician to lead advanced dimensional inspections using tactile CMMs and optical systems. You will develop and optimize inspection programs from CAD drawings, interpret GD&T, and mentor junior technicians in measurement methods.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or technical diploma with hands-on metrology/quality inspection experience.
• Strong experience with tactile CMMs and optical systems (structured light/laser/vision).
• Proficiency with CMM/optical software such as Zeiss Calypso.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute complex inspections using CMMs, structured light scanners, lasers and other tools.
• Develop, optimize and validate CMM/optical inspection programs from CAD drawings.
• Interpret GD&T requirements and advise on measurement feasibility and results.
• Lead investigations of dimensional nonconformances and contribute data to root cause analysis.
• Train and mentor junior technicians in equipment use and reporting.
