Job summary

Harrods in Knightsbridge seeks a mechanically biased Technical Services Manager to lead MEP delivery across capital projects within our world‑class estate. You will work with Project Managers, Engineering, Fire Safety and external consultants to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project execution and handover.

You will review designs, manage consultants, and drive best practice while balancing technical excellence with commercial needs across a complex environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of mechanically biased experience managing MEP projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, fire life safety and sustainability.
• Experience delivering construction/engineering projects from inception through handover.
• Ability to review technical designs, engineering specifications and consultant proposals.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, building regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Mechanical engineering degree.
• CIBSE membership.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health elements across capital projects.
• Managing engineering consultants and design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Reviewing and approving engineering schemes, specifications and technical designs.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, building regulations and health and safety standards.
• Overseeing project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables.
• Supporting project handovers, operation and maintenance documentation and operational readiness.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Coaching and supporting wider project teams on M&E best practice.
• Maintaining engineering standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
