Job summary

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading Biodiesel company to hire a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader for a COMAH site in Ellesmere Port, offering a salary up to £60,000 plus overtime. You will oversee the mechanical maintenance team, plan preventative work and ensure CMMS records are kept up to date.

Ideal candidates will have heavy industrial site experience, a mechanical engineering background, and a track record of supervising or mentoring teams, with CMMS usage and health & safety

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance teams or supervising contractors.
• Experience on heavy industrial sites (chemical/oil & gas, process, power generation).
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification advantageous; HNC in Mechanical Engineering and COMAH site experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Plan and deliver preventative, planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are accurately recorded and closed out within the CMMS.
• Manage maintenance stores, spare parts and critical equipment to maintain stock availability.
• Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across the maintenance team.
• Coach, mentor and develop technicians through training, performance management and competency assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability, reduce downtime and control maintenance costs.
• Manage contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, to specification and in line with company procedures.
• Work closely with the Planner and Reliability Engineer to ensure maintenance schedules are delivered on time.
• Liaise with Procurement to source cost-effective maintenance services and ensure purchasing procedures are followed.
