iO Associates is seeking a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer with a strong water-sector background to take technical ownership and lead multidisciplinary projects in a growing UK water and infrastructure team. The role involves strategic leadership, design reviews, and mentoring engineers in a hybrid model.

Applicants should be Chartered/Incorporated and possess extensive experience in water treatment design, pumps, dosing systems, and UK standards.

Qualifications

• Chartered/Incorporated engineer status required.
• Water sector design experience essential.
• Experience leading mechanical teams on water/wastewater projects.
• CDM/DSEAR knowledge and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead/coordinate Mechanical Engineering teams delivering water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Produce and review design reports, drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects, supporting delivery, bids and client requirements.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of the wider Mechanical Engineering team.
